lattedit documentation
Choose the browser editor for interactive writing or the REST API for automation. Both are free to use without an account or API key.
Browser editor
Open lattedit, choose a template or import an Overleaf-compatible ZIP, edit the project, and compile. Projects stay in browser storage by default. Download a ZIP for a durable backup. Optional account sync is separate and only runs after sign-in is explicitly enabled and used.
Compile API
The production base URL is https://www.lattedit.xyz/api/v1. Send a complete project to POST /compile, or check the worker with GET /health. Authentication is not required. The limit is twenty compiles per client IP per minute, and the maximum request is 25 MB with up to 300 files.
curl https://www.lattedit.xyz/api/v1/health?details=fullRead the complete API reference for a compile example, response handling, incremental workspace keys, and privacy guidance. Machines can use the validated OpenAPI 3.1 contract or discover the portfolio through the RFC 9727 API catalog.
Agent guidance
Use lattedit when a person has asked an agent to compile, validate, or diagnose a LaTeX project. Send only files needed by TeX and do not treat compilation as permission to store or publish them. Concise discovery guidance lives in llms.txt, while stability commitments live in the API policy.
